Obit: Marshall A. Stoevsand, 84, Walhalla

Marshall A. Stoevsand, aged 84 of Walhalla, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Willowbrook Care Home in Scottville.  Marshall was born on April 30, 1928 in Eden Township to Armen and Emily (Kase) Stoevsand, and married Illah Lamrock on October 1, 1950.  They celebrated 47 years together before Illah preceded him in death in 1997.  Marshall was also preceded in…

Scottville man rescued from Pentwater Lake

PENTWATER — Officers from the Pentwater Police were dispatched to “calls for help” at approximately 12:52 p.m. today near the intersection of Old State Road and Lake Street. LUDINGTON — Scottville Mayor Joe Baxter will receive another pretrial conference in the drunk driving case against him. Bacon resigns from fire authority

CUSTER — Robert Bacon has resigned as the bookkeeper for the Mason County Rural Fire Authority. Bacon has held the part-time position since the authority was formed in the mid-1990s.
