
Debra Anderson
In the early morning of Thursday, December 1, 2025, Debra DeAnn (Patten) Anderson of Decator, Ind., answered the phone call from God telling her, “Your work here on earth is done and it is time to come to work for me helping all those in need.”
Born the second twin on Oct. 14, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Roy C. and DeEtta Frances (Casteel) Patten. She attended Riverton, Mears, and Foster elementary schools, Mason County Central, OJ DeJonge Junior High School and Ludington High School, graduating with the class of 1977. 
While growing up she was active in the Brownies, Trinity Church choir, was in the Miss Ludington Pageant in 1977, and Yearbook Club. Debra loved hanging out at the beach, A & W, the bowling alley in Ludington, House of Flavors, The Lyric Theater, and The Star Lite Drive-In. She enjoyed life.
Debra was also an elder of the Sac and Fox Tribe.
Debra served honorably in several military branches during her military career including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and retiring from the U.S. Air Force.
From Debra’s first union, she had a son, Shawn Alan Foster. She then married Carl Jerry Anderson on April 7, 1997 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Debra was proceeded in death by her parents, Roy C. and DeEtta Frances (Casteel) Patten; brothers, Raymond and David; brother-in-law, Roy Banister; grandparents, several aunts, uncles, a grand nephew, and cousins.
Surviving are her husband, Carl Anderson, Decatur, Ind.; son, Shawn (Shawna) Foster, Kentucky; sisters, her twin sister, Carla Banister and life-partner, Alan Weiner, Vestaburg, Mich.; Terry Patten, Ludington; Lucille (Kenneth) Geisleman, Troup, Texas; and Nancy (Douglas) Zerby, Fountain; grandson, Brandon Foster, Kentucky; along with several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A private service for Debra was held on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, with burial and military honors at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Ind.
This obituary for our dear sister is being published in honor of her memory. Many tears have fallen from the sky for her; she was loved and will be forever missed.
