Jail visit leads to arrest.

LUDINGTON — A 29-year-old Ludington man who came to the Mason County Jail Saturday morning, April 29, to visit an inmate soon became an inmate himself, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“During a random check, the man was found to have a valid FTA (failure to appear) warrant out of Grand Traverse County,” Cole said. “He was lodged in the Mason County Jail and to turned over to Grand Traverse County deputies.”

– 1:30 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 62-year-old Baldwin man was arrested for retail fraud at Walmart, Pere Marquette Township.

– 8:28 p.m., (MSP), a 44-year-old Ringgold, Georgia man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, Lakeshore Drive and Meisenheimer Road, Summit Township.
– 11:34 p.m, (MCSO), one-vehicle crash/operating while intoxicated arrest, no injuries, US 31 north of US 10, Amber Township. A 62-year-old Rothbury man was arrested after the vehicle he was operating left the road and struck several small trees.
