Scottville water main project to begin, streets to close on north end.

SCOTTVILLE — The city will begin its North Main Street water main project next week. The $1.6 million project will be replacing the outdated water main on North Main Street. On Wednesday, June 15 East Broadway between Columbia and High streets will be closed except for local traffic. The closure will be for at least a couple weeks, according to City Manager Amy Williams.

Beginning Saturday, June 18, the following streets will be closed, except to local traffic: North Main Street from Broadway Street to Johnson Road, West Broadway from Reinberg Avenue to Main Street and West Maple Street from Reinberg Avenue to Main Street.

West Broadway and West Maple streets will be closed only on Saturday, June 18 and will open later that day once milling work is complete. North Main Street will remain closed until further notice as the water main replacement project will begin on Monday, June 20. Trucks will need to find an alternative route, Williams said.
