Sheriff and county will talk to Scottville about police coverage

LUDINGTON — Mason County’s new sheriff, Kim Cole, is wasting no time in following up on his campaign promises. Today, Cole and Undersheriff Jody Hartley, met with the Mason County Public Safety and Courts Committee to discuss repairs to the jail. Scottville police department was busier in 2012

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville Police Department had a busy 2012. During the city commission meeting Monday, Police Chief Mark Barnett presented the department’s activity report. Police responded to 1,868 incidences, compared to 1,549 in 2011 and 1,128 in 2010. Of those incidences, 1,004 (53%) were self initiated by the department, compared to 727 (46%) in 2011.
