Gerry Lee Hansen, 80, of Ludington, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, following a battle with cancer.

Gerry was born in Ludington on February 6, 1945, the second child of Richard and Marjorie Pehrson.  She graduated from Mason County Central High School in 1963.

In 1981, Gerry was elected the clerk for the City of Ludington.  She proudly held this position until her retirement in 2006. In conjunction with her retirement, Gerry was honored to be named as the Grand Marshall of the Ludington 4th of July parade.

On January 20, 2007, Gerry married Roger Hansen of Ludington.

Gerry enjoyed watching sports and was her family’s biggest cheerleader starting with her brothers in softball and, more recently, she could be heard cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She and her husband, Roger, seldom missed watching MSU, the Tigers and the Lions. They spent their summers in Tamarac and enjoyed boating on Hamlin Lake.   She was a member of Lincoln Hills Golf Club and the Ludington Boat Club among other organizations.

Gerry will be missed by her husband Roger; children, Kristi Klaft Freese, Scott (Karen) Klaft, Randy Hansen and honorary son, Mike (Cindy) Dark;  her brothers, John Pehrson, Tom (Diana) Pehrson, Mark (Trina) Pehrson, Ron (Katie) Pehrson, her sister Connie (Don) Wiles;  10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve Hansen and daughter, Chris (Ed) Arnold.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ludington Boat Club, 502 Lake St., Ludington.
