LUDINGTON — Staff and teachers at Ludington High School have been preparing for the new school year. Earlier this week, High School Principal Dan Mesyar and Assistant Principal Steve Forsberg posed with the new “Best High Schools” poster that will hang above the school’s main entrance door.

For the sixth consecutive year, LHS has earned the U.S. News and World Report Best High Schools award.

Mesyar said the award is a “huge point of pride for the school, the district, and this community. Our students continue to outperform the state and nation across the board in both state and national tests. We provide an individualized education where families can partner with the school to guide their student in a pathway that best fits them. Our goal is for students to be college, career, and or job ready when they leave us.

“This award is a pre-K through 12th grade award, it includes teachers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, food service, secretaries, and counselors who make this happen for the students who attend Ludington Area School District. We are proud of this achievement and will work hard for continuous improvement.”

LHS, and all Mason County public schools, will begin the school year on Sept. 6.
