SCOTTVILLE – A 25-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies on charges of home invasion, domestic violence, interfering with 911 communications and assault on a corrections deputy Saturday afternoon, March 9, after allegedly kicking the door down to residence where a woman he was dating lived and assaulting her, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Christian Robert Walden also reportedly spit in the face of a sheriff’s deputy and fought with several others while he was booked into the Mason County Jail, Cole said.

Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting an “unwanted” person at a home in the 100 block of East State Street, Cole said. “During the call, the female caller was heard screaming in the phone and the call abruptly ended. Deputies arrived and found the door to the residence kicked in and broken.

“Inside, they made contact with a female who had allegedly been assaulted by a male subject she had been in a short-term dating relationship with. The male had fled out the back door as deputies arrived but was located a short distance away and arrested. The victim was treated at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.”

Walden remains lodged in the Mason County Jail on a $50,000 cash/surety bond.

Troopers with the Michigan State Police, Hart post, assisted deputies at the scene.
