EDEN TOWNSHIP — A 2011 White Chevy Malibu that was stolen during a home invasion shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in the 2900 block of South Custer Road has been recovered by police, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

A sheriff’s deputy located the stolen car in the 2700 block of South Scottville Road at 4:55 a.m., Cole said. “The vehicle was unoccupied, and the case remains under investigation,” he said.

The homeowner called police after he was awakened by his dog barking. He found a door to the home open and his vehicle missing from the driveway.

Two other break-ins were reported to the sheriff’s office Thursday on South Custer Road.

At 7:47 a.m., a ​breaking and entering to a vehicle and the theft of a bicycle were reported in the 3000 block of South Custer Road. “The victim reported a bicycle stolen from the residence, which was recovered at another crime scene,” Cole said.

At 8:56 a.m., a break-in to a garage was reported in the 3400 block of South Custer Road. Assorted items were reportedly stolen, the sheriff said.

– 12:25 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 and Stiles Road, Amber Township.

– 9:40 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
