WSCC offering full degree programs online.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — West Shore Community College now offers complete degree programs online through WSCC Online, a program that allows students to study from home, the office, or anywhere there’s an internet connection.

The college offers several degrees and certificates fully online, including an associate of arts (AA) as well as the associate of applied sciences (AAAS) in early childhood education and three certificates, including business/management skills, corrections, and early childhood education.

In addition, there are programs offered mostly online including an associate of science (AS), AA in business, and an AAAS in marketing/management.

Courses not available directly from WSCC are also available from Michigan Colleges Online (MCO), making it possible for students to earn these same degrees completely online.

Through the MCO, WSCC students can enroll and complete coursework from one of Michigan’s 28 community colleges while maintaining their home status and support services from West Shore.

In total, there are more than 65 individual classes available online in diverse program areas and disciplines, allowing students to pursue degrees and classes that are both face-to-face and online.

“WSCC Online options are designed for flexibility. Students can schedule classes to fit their busy lives,” said Brooke Portmann, dean of arts and sciences. “WSCC Online students have access to the same faculty, resources, and support services as on-campus students. It’s a terrific way to learn and earn a degree while living your life.”

Registration for WSCC’s fall semester is underway for first-time, returning, and guest students and will continue to the first week of each term’s classes.

The fall semester begins August 29 and ends December 16.

Students who register early for classes have the best selection of courses, as well as day and time offerings. For those entering college for the first time, now is also the time to concentrate on the application process for financial aid that can help pay for classes.

All students seeking financial aid must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, also commonly referred to as FAFSA. Information about the FAFSA can be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Those with questions about the financial aid process can contact the WSCC Financial Aid office.
