Deputies arrest 3 over weekend; respond to crashes

mcso_logoDeputies made three separate arrests over the weekend and responded to several vehicle crashes. The following is the activity report of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for Feb. 28 to March 2, 2014:

Feb. 28

– 6 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Chauvez and Stiles roads, Riverton Twp.

– 11:30 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Reek and Dewey roads, Sherman Twp.

– 11:34 a.m.: Two vehicle broadside crash, no injuries, Dewey Rd. near U.S. 31, Victory Twp.

– 12:13 p.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 west of Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Twp.

– 1:39 p.m.: Gas drive off of $39, 5400 block of West U.S. 10, PM Twp.

– 2:19 p.m.: Two vehicle broadside crash, minor injuries to both drivers, U.S. 10 and U.S. 31 expressway ramp, Amber Twp. An 81-year-old Pentwater man and a 33-year-old Branch woman both received minor injuries.

– 11:32 p.m.: A 65-year-old Ludington man was arrested by deputies and charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at U.S. 10 and Gordon Rd., Amber Twp.

March 1

– 12:48 a.m.: A 31-year-old Custer man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .24% following a traffic stop at Scottville and Conrad roads, Riverton Twp.

– 11:45 a.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 at the east-bound U.S. 31 off ramp, Amber Twp.

– 1:38 p.m.: A 38-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant out of Mason County, U.S. 10 and Tyndall Rd., Branch Twp.

March 2:

– 4 a.m.: Alarm activation, 3800 block of West U.S. 10, Amber Twp.

– 7:37 a.m.: Two vehicle broadside crash with injuries, U.S. 10 east of Brye Rd., Amber Twp. See related story here.

– 1:39 p.m.: Alarm activation, 6900 block of South Lakeshore Dr., Summit Twp.

– 11:07 p.m.: Disturbance, 143 N. Jebavy Dr., PM Twp.

– 11:50 p.m.: Suspicious situation, 2900 block of West Johnson Rd., Amber Twp.
