Woman arrested for disorderly, child neglect after screaming, staggering in streets.

SCOTTVILLE – A 41-year-old Scottville woman was arrested for disorderly person and child neglect Saturday morning, March 30, after staggering down a street, yelling and talking loudly to herself, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. Following her arrest, deputies found three children between 5 and 10 years of age who had been left unattended.

Deputies started receiving complaints about the intoxicated woman at 5:30 a.m. “The first call reported an intoxicated female who had walked into a home uninvited,” Cole said. “Additional reports came in of a female, screaming at others and staggering about the streets.”

She was arrested at Gay and Broadway streets, and the children were turned over to a family friend.
