Drunk, barefoot man staggering in traffic arrested.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 36-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly person by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Sunday, July 8, at 10:41 p.m. on Pere Marquette Highway and Hesslund Road following reports of a person jumping into traffic, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“When deputies arrived, the person was found staggering in traffic barefoot,” Cole said. “He claimed he was walking to Iowa and registered a .25 BAC (blood alcohol content).”

– 9:23 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, 4900 block of US 10, Pere Marquette Township.

– 9:36 a.m., (MCSO), larceny of camping equipment, Lake Michigan Recreation Area Camp Ground, Grant Township. The victims reported several camping goods were stolen while they were away from their site.

– 5:49 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.

– 9:51 p.m., (MCSO), driving while license suspended (​DWLS), furnishing false info to law enforcement and a warrant arrest, 2900 block of West Conrad Road, Amber Township. A 25-year-old Ludington man was arrested the day after he was stopped for a traffic violation, and it was learned he had given the deputy a false name, his brother’s name, during the traffic stop. He was located at an Amber Township residence and was arrested. The warrant is for failure to appear for a jury trial in Mason County.

– 9:51 p.m., (MCSO), bond violation, 2900 block of West Conrad Road, Amber Township. During the investigation into the above arrest, the MCSO deputy who had made the original traffic stop on July 4 had arrested a 25-year-old Ludington man for possession of marijuana. This person was found at the residence and found to be under the influence and out on bond for the possession of marijuana charge. The court was contacted and advised to arrest the person for violation of his bond.

– 10:10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Scottville Road south of Sippy Road, Eden Township.

– 11:56 a.m., (MCSO), larceny of a purse, Meijer store, 3900 block of West US 10, Amber Township. The victim reported leaving her purse in the women’s restroom and upon returning, it was gone.

– 1 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Stiles Road, Amber Township.

– 1:29 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $24.02 in fuel stolen, Scottville EZ Mart, 400 block of East US 10, Custer Township.

– 2:12 p.m., (LPD), stolen vehicle, 300 block of North Washington Avenue, City of Ludington.
