Rash of vehicle break-ins in Custer on Thanksgiving.

CUSTER — Several break-ins to vehicles occurred in the village limits on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, but nothing of any substantial value was stolen.

The first vehicle break-in was reported at 8:54 a.m. in the 2000 block of First Street. “The victim reported someone had entered a vehicle parked in the driveway overnight. Nothing was noticed missing,” the sheriff said

The second car break-in was reported at 9:26 a.m. in the 1900 block of First Street. “The victim reported someone had entered a vehicle on the property, taking a cereal bar and bag of pretzels, discarding the wrappers in the caller’s yard.”

The third incident was reported at 9:33 a.m. in the 2000 block of First Street. “The victim reported someone had entered a vehicle in the driveway and removed papers from the vehicle and scattered them in the yard.”

At 9:38 a.m., the sheriff’s office took a complaint of a ​breaking and entering and damaged property in the 300 block of South Jefferson Street. “The victim reported someone had entered a camper trailer and vehicle parked on the property,” Cole said.

At 10:03 a.m., deputies received a complaint of a damaged mailbox in the 300 block of South Monroe Street. “The victim reported their mailbox pulled from the ground and damaged during the night,” said Sheriff Cole.

Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017:

– 2:16 a.m., (MCSO), two warrant arrests, Meijer, 3900 block of West US 10—Meijer Amber Township. A 26-year-old Custer man and his father, a 57-year-old Custer man, were both arrested following a 911 call reporting a medical/intoxicated person. The younger man was wanted on a misdemeanor traffic warrant issued by the Ludington Police Department, and his father was wanted on a failure to pay fines warrant issued by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

– 7:56 p.m., (MSP), a 26-year-old Fountain man was arrested for assault and probation violation, 6000 block of East Decker Road, Branch Township.

Friday, Nov. 24, 2017:

– 8:03 a.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $60 in fuel stolen, 400 block of East US 10, Scottville EZ Mart, Custer Township.

Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017:

– 7:16 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $34.99 in fuel stolen, 5400 block of West US 10, Airport EZ Mart, Pere Marquette Township.

– 11:25 p.m., (MSP), a 23-year-old Free Soil man was arrested for driving while license suspended (DWLS), US 10 and Dennis Road, Amber Township.

Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017:

– 3:40 a.m., (MCSO), a 22-year-old Ludington man was arrested for marijuana possession following a traffic stop, Conrad and Dennis roads, Amber Township.

– 3:05 p.m., (MCSO), warrant arrest, US 10-31, Amber Township. A 47-year-old Mount Pleasant man was arrested following a traffic stop on an outstanding Friend of the Court warrant issued in Mason County.
