Roadside nap leads to arrest.

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP — A 55-year-old Irons man was arrested for open intoxicants in a vehicle Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 2:46 a.m. after Mason County sheriff’s deputies found him “sleeping in his running vehicle roadside” at Custer and Sugar Grove roads, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Monday, Aug. 7, 2017:
– 8:15 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injuries, Rasmussen Road east of Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
– 12:44 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, minor injury, US 10 and Dennis Road, Amber Township.
– 1:55 p.m., (MCSO), larceny of an American flag and a confederate flag, 2700 block of Countyline Road, Grant Township.
Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017:
– 1:50 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 43-year-old Chicago man was arrested for no operator’s license, US 31, Amber Township.
– 7:15 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, M 116 north of Lakeshore Drive, Hamlin Township.
– 2:36 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle hit and run crash, no injuries, 3800 block of West US 10, Amber Township.
– 4:36 p.m., (MCSO), breaking and entering to a residence, 4600 block of South Scottville Road, Riverton Township. The home had been broken into some time during the day, the sheriff said.
– 5 p.m., (MSP), domestic assault, under investigation, 2000 block of Sandy Drive, Hamlin Township.
– 5:23 p.m., (MCSO), car/motorcycle crash causing injury, Pere Marquette Highway at the northbound US 31 off-ramp, Pere Marquette Township. A 75-year-old Hart man received serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries after he had slowed his motorcycle for a semi-truck, which had pulled in front of him, when he was rear-ended by vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Custer woman.
– 6:30 p.m., (MSP), a 37-year-old Custer woman was arrested for driving an unregistered vehicle and operating without insurance, Budzynski Road and First Street, Branch Township.
