Motorcyclist, 26, remains hospitalized following crash; names released.

BRANCH TWP. — Lafayette Blain, the 26-year-old motorcyclist from Farwell, Michigan, who was seriously injured during a two-vehicle crash on US 10 in front of the Emerson Lake Inn Friday evening remains hospitalized, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The driver of the eastbound 2008 Chevy pickup truck, which attempted a left turn into a private drive has been identified as James Yore, 74, of Irons. Yore’s wife, Bonnie, 71, also of Irons, received minor injuries in the crash.

According to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, Blain is currently recovering from injuries sustained as a result of the crash in a down-state hospital. The case does remain under investigation by the sheriff’s office.

Blain was taken by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital and later flown by AeroMed helicopter to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with serious injuries.
