Prowling suspect arrested north of Scottville

CUSTER TWP. — A 21-year-old Burr Oak man was arrested Thursday night after law enforcement was called to a prowler complaint in the 800 block of North U.S. 31 just outside of Scottville. The initial 911 dispatch said a woman heard tapping on her window and her dog was barking. The home apparently had been broken into previously.

Mason County Sheriff’s Office and Scottville Police Department responded and found the man. He was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant from Sturgis, Mich Police Department for receiving/concealing firearms.

  • 12:08 a.m.: Alarm activation, 1600 block of South Pere Marquette Hwy., Pere Marquette Twp.
  • 10:10 a.m.: Sex offender registration violation, Mason County probation/parole, City of Ludington. Warrant requested for a 31-year-old Ludington man.
  • 11:46 a.m.: Gas drive off of $44.38 from Airport EZ Mart, corner of U.S. 10 and P.M. Hwy, P.M. Twp.
  • 1:53 p.m.: Two vehicle broadside crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 east of P.M. Hwy., P.M. Twp.
  • 2:27 p.m.: Trespassing, 1300 block of East Mavis Rd., Sherman Twp. Case closed.
  • 6:09 p.m.: Gas drive off of $16.09, Wesco East Gate, U.S. 10 west of Jebavy Dr., P.M. Twp.
  • 1047 p.m.: Assist Michigan State Police, U.S. 31 and Freeman Rd., Free Soil Twp. Motorcycle crash. See related story.
