HAMLIN TWP. — An autopsy was performed this morning on the body found north of Big Point Sable Lighthouse Tuesday night. Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole said the body was that of a black male who was 5-foot, 11-inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds.

“The deceased had two identifiable tattoos on his upper left chest above his left nipple,” Cole said. “One is of a pyramid and above that is a tattoo of a half moon with a star.”

The cause of death has yet to be determined, Cole said.

Mason County deputies are working with the surrounding Great Lake states to help identify this individual.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to contact the Mason/Oceana 911 Center at (231) 869-5858 or Detective Sergeant Tom Posma at (231) 843-3475.
