Mason County District Library- Librarian I, Part Time Youth Services Librarian

Mason County District Library is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Youth Services Librarian position at the Scottville Library. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the delivery of library services to children and teens that use the Mason County District Library – Scottville. The position plans and conducts story time and other child-related programs for teens, children, their parents, caregivers and teachers for the purposes of encouraging reading, viewing and listening to Library materials in an effort to create lifelong readers. Essential duties include planning and conducting programs, selecting library materials, coordinating library outreach programs, and assisting patrons.

Minimum requirements: Bachelors Degree, possession of a valid Michigan Driver’s License and experience working with children and adults.   Knowledge of all computer applications and hardware related to performance of essential functions of the job. This is a part-time non-union position. 29 hours per week including afternoons, evenings and weekend hours.

Preferred requirements: Masters in Library Science from an accredited in institution, and previous experience working in a public library setting.

Starting pay: $13.00-15.00/hr DOQ
