Employment Opportunity: Police Recruit

The Ludington Police Department is accepting applications for Police Recruit.  The Police Recruit will be sponsored by the Ludington Police Department as they attend a police academy sanctioned by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards. The Police Recruit position is a full-time, benefited position with the City of Ludington.  Continued employment with the City of Ludington is contingent upon successful graduation from the academy.  Following graduation from the academy, the Recruit shall become a sworn Ludington Police Officer subject to further contingencies applicable to that position.    

At the time of appointment, the successful applicant shall have passed a background investigation, medical physical, mental health evaluation, and drug screening.  The successful applicant must have successfully completed the MCOLES Reading and Writing test with a passing score as well as achieve a passing score on the MCOLES Physical Fitness test.  Applicants must have, at least, a high school diploma or G.E.D.  A college degree of Associates level or above preferred.
