Employment Opportunity: Assistant Maintenance Person
Job Duties:
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with the following responsibilities:
- Maintain all safety and code requirements of the State, local and Board of Education guidelines as well as ensuring compliance with water, sewer, asbestos, permits, etc.
- Repair and maintain all types of air conditioning and refrigeration units.
- Repair and maintain gas, hot water, steam and oil boilers and hot air furnace.
- Repair and maintain air handlers, ventilators, cooling coils and radiators along with other mechanical heating and ventilating equipment.
- Monitor and coordinate control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperature.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance and boiler water treatment programs for all heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Capable of using technology for successful operation on computer programs relating to HVAC systems, maintenance programs and general word processing.
- Install and test new equipment when qualified to do so.
- May be required to be on 24-hour call. FLSA rules apply.
- Accurately order and account for material and labor in relation to assignments.
- Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis for the purpose of preventative maintenance.
- Perform general maintenance work inside and outside of physical plant such as ceiling, roof, electrical, plumbing, concrete or masonry, lazing, insulating, etc.
- Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintains the district-owned inventory of hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials and supplies.
- Responsible for keying systems and repair; issuance of keys and replacement upon loss.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.

Reports to: Building Maintenance Supervisor
Salary: $40,000 (52-week position)
