Employment Opportunities: Corrections Deputies, Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is seeking individuals for a full time position in the field of Corrections.

Salary/Benefits:

Wages start at $19.82 per hour with 4 year progressive pay raises.
- Pay will commensurate with experience.
- 13 paid Holidays
- Longevity pay after 5 years
- Shift differential pay

Qualifications:

Associates in Corrections preferred but not needed
Be a Citizen of the United States
In order to apply, you must pass the EMPCO written and physical fitness test
- You can sign up for the test at www.emco.net/msa/
- The test are offered at West Shore Community College.
- If you are licensed LCOT’s Officer, the EMPCO testing will be waived.
-Be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
-Be qualified to obtain a concealed pistol license
-Have a valid Michigan Driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record
-Have passed the Michigan Sheriff’s Coordinating and Training Council’s (MSCTC) written and physical examination standards for corrections officers (see empco.net for standards)
Pass a background investigation/drug screen/ psychological exam
