Paul T. Butterfield, father of Michigan State Police Trooper Paul K.  Butterfield II, lost his battle with cancer Friday. The younger Butterfield was killed on Sept. 9, 2013 on North Custer Road in Free Soil Township by 19-year-old Eric Knysz of Irons. PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 49-year-old Ludington man Thursday for illegal entry at a business in the 900 block of East Melendy Street.
