Board vacancies: City of Scottville

PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF SCOTTVILLE

The City of Scottville is seeking to fill the following vacancies:

CITY COMMISSION – WARD 1

The City of Scottville is currently accepting letters of interest for the purpose of filling a Ward 1 City Commission seat.  Ward 1 is defined as anyone living west of Main Street. The successful candidate will be appointed to the City Commission until the next regular City election held on November 3, 2020.  The successful applicant must be a resident of the City of Scottville for at least one year immediately preceding their appointment to office. The successful applicant must also be a qualified and registered voter of the City of Scottville prior to their appointment and throughout their tenure in office.  Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest to the City Manager at Scottville City Hall, 105 North Main Street, Scottville, MI 49454. Letters of Interest will be received until such time an appointment is made. The appointment shall be made no later than Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Regular Commission meeting that starts at 5:30pm.  For further information you may contact the City offices at 231-757-4729. DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY BOARD

The City of Scottville is currently accepting letters of interest for the purpose of filling two available seats on the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board. One seat fills an unexpired term running through December 2021. The other seat is for a full term through December 2023. To serve, you must either have a business interest in the Downtown or be a resident within the DDA Boundaries. The Board meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 8:00am. Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest to the City Manager at Scottville City Hall, 105 North Main Street, Scottville, MI 49454.  Letters of Interest will be received until such time an appointment is made.  

PLANNING COMMISSION

The City of Scottville is currently accepting letters of interest for the purpose of filling available seats on the Planning Commission. The appointment is for a three-year term, through December 2022. Members of the Commission shall be qualified electors of the City of Scottville, with exception available for up to two (2) representatives from the surrounding area that are similarly qualified to represent areas of major interest within the City. The Board meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm. Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest to the City Manager at Scottville City Hall, 105 North Main Street, Scottville, MI 49454.  Letters of Interest will be received until such time an appointment is made.
