LUDINGTON – Three vehicles owned by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office were vandalized Saturday morning. The incident happened in the north parking lot of the sheriff’s office. At the southern end of the Hart-Montague Rail Trail is a section which passes near the Alcoa-Howmet casting plant. Recent improvements by Alcoa create some great opportunities for kids. An additional eight miles of multi-use trail now extend south from the terminus of the Hart-Montague Rail Trail in Whitehall. This is the Berry Junction Trail, following the line of the former Chicago and West Michigan Railroad where Berry Junction was a real location on the railroad that linked Whitehall and Fremont.
