Former MCC coach being investigated

SCOTTVILLE – The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a former Mason County Central athletic coach. Sheriff Jeff Fiers said the investigation has been underway for the past couple of months and that the department expects to turn the information over to the prosecutor in the next couple of weeks. Scottville Mayor Joe Baxter was involved in an accident at the end of Second Street this morning. He allegedly drove his truck into a ravine. Witnesses said he drove past their houses at a high rate of speed, going straight into the ravine at the end of the street. LUDINGTON — Two fires within a block of each other are being called suspicious by Ludington Fire Chief Jerry Funk. The first fire, at 301 N. William St., was called in around 4 am this morning.
