GRAND RAPIDS — Maxwell Smith, the 10-year-old Sheridan Township boy who was injured in a bicycle accident on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, has been transferred to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, according to Paul Shoup, superintendent of Mason County Eastern Schools. LUDINGTON — Ludington Police Department has promoted Officer Michael Haveman to the position of sergeant, effective today. Haveman replaces Dean Schultz, who retired last week. Haveman earned an associate of science degree in criminal justice from Grand Rapids Community College and began his law enforcement career as a seasonal police officer with the Ludington Police Department in June of 2001. …
