
Lois Haus
Lois Irene (Pratt) Haus, 98, of Ludington, formerly of Pentwater, passed away on Thursday July 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born March 12, 1927, in Scottville, Lois was the daughter of the late Ward and Hazel (Davis) Pratt. She graduated from Scottville High School, class of 1945, then went on to Central Michigan University where she received her master’s degree in education.
Lois married Clarence Haus on August 14, 1954, and they shared many years together filled with love and laughter.
She was a teacher for 36 years, working in several Michigan districts, before retiring in 1986.
Lois was an adventurous and fun-loving soul. She and Clarence enjoyed wintering in Florida and world travel, making friends along the way. She enjoyed working in her garden and feeding the birds into her 90’s. Lois was very well read; she enjoyed sharing her wealth of knowledge and life stories with everyone.
She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth (Kurt) Caron and Linda (Mike) Marek; granddaughters Amy (Jeff) Aoyama, Julie (Ray) Dill, and Rachel Fessenden; great-grandchildren Jasper, Sarah, Ollie, and Noah; niece Barbara Wiedenhoeft; nephew Michael Wallace; cousin Madalyn Engelberg and many second and third cousins. In addition to her parents Ward and Hazel, Lois was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Haus, and sister Kathleen (Don) Grill.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Village Manor for their compassionate care of Lois.
No services are planned per Lois’s request.
