LUDINGTON — The Stearns Park summer beach bonfire series resumes this week. The popular bonfires are held the last Thursday of June, July and August, June 26, July 31, and Aug. 28.
The bonfires will also include live music and sunsets over Lake Michigan.
The series kicks off on Thursday, June 26. Live music will begin at 8 p.m., featuring Caribbean sounds of the Petoskey Steel Drum Band.

June 26: Petoskey High School Steel Drum Band
The Petoskey Steel Drum Band brings a unique sound to events all over Michigan. This group of about 40 students performs a blend of Caribbean steel drum music with contemporary tunes. The combination of exciting rhythms and vocals captivates audiences and creates a refreshing experience for everyone! They can be found performing all over Northern Michigan and as far away as New Orleans during Mardi Gras and Chicago for the Festival of Lights Parade in November.
July 31: Steely
Ravon Rhoden has established himself as one of the most innovative and vital voices in modern reggae. Born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, his music pays tribute to legends like Bob Marley and Dennis Brown, while pushing the genre into bold new territory. He is the first major reggae artist to accompany his vocals on the steel drum, an instrument that gives him his signature sound. This interactive performer will have everyone on the beach dancing in the sand.
August 28: Tim Krause
Tim Krause is a musician born and raised in Michigan. This guitarist and vocalist brings a fresh feeling to the classics, drawing inspiration from the 70s. He has recorded two albums and has been playing solo acoustic shows for the past 25 years.
“It never gets old, and I love the interaction of a live audience and just being able to provide a little escape from our daily routines,” Krause says.
