Winter storm warning extended until 4 p.m. Friday.

MASON COUNTY — The US National Weather Service extended the winter storm warning until 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, for Mason, Oceana and Muskegon counties.

Expect heavy snow with additional snow accumulations up to 8 inches. Plan on slippery road conditions. 

“The western halves of Mason, Oceana and Muskegon counties will be impacted by the heavier snow showers  producing accumulations of a half inch to one inch per hour,” state NWS. “Snow covered and slippery roads are expected. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”
