AMBER TWP. — A 23-year-old Scottville woman was injured after the vehicle she was driving ran off the road and struck an apple tree Monday night. 

The crash occurred in the 900 block of West Hansen Road — between LaSalle and Gordon roads — about 10:45 p.m. The woman was driving east in a Chevrolet Malibu, crossed the centerline and then left the north side of the road, entered a ditch and then struck the tree. 

Deputies on scene said the woman said she was trying to miss an animal. She was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Fire Department and Life EMS ambulance.
