SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central School District will host a public forum Tuesday, Sept. 22, to discuss the results of a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis conducted this summer as part of the district’s strategic planning process.
The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in A.O. Carlson Gymnasium at MCC High School.
Superintendent Jeff Tuka and members of the Board of Education will review the major themes identified through the SWOT analysis and discuss how the information will help guide development of the district’s strategic plan.
The district is also seeking additional feedback from students, parents, staff and community members during the forum.
A SWOT analysis is a strategic planning tool used to identify an organization’s internal strengths and weaknesses along with external opportunities and threats that could influence its future direction.
MCC began gathering information for the process this summer. The district invited employees, students, parents and community members to complete a survey identifying what they believed to be MCC’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
The survey was available online and through paper copies and QR codes placed at several locations in the Scottville area. The information collected through the survey was then reviewed as part of the district’s broader strategic planning effort.
The Sept. 22 forum will give the public an opportunity to hear the primary themes that emerged from the summer input and provide additional feedback before the district moves forward with its updated strategic plan.
