LUDINGTON — A 23-year-old Iowa man passed out in the grass in the area of Loomis and Gaylord streets was arrested by Ludington police officers for disorderly conduct Friday, Aug. 7, around 5 a.m., according to Ludington Police Chief Chris Jones.
Police responded to the area in reference to a welfare check. “The subject was reported to be passed out, lying in the grass,” said Chief Jones. “Officers contacted the subject who was highly intoxicated, and unable to care for himself.” He was arrested “without incident” and transported to the Mason County Jail, where he was lodged.
A similar arrest occurred Thursday, Aug. 6, shortly after 6 p.m. A 48-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 300 block of East Ludington Avenue. “The subject was found sleeping in an area he had no right to be, and when woken up, was found to be highly intoxicated,” said Chief Jones. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026:
- 8:39 p.m., a 42-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued by the 79th District Court following a traffic stop, Lincoln Road and Fifth Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 8:50 p.m., a 44-year-old Fenton man arrested for operating while intoxicated and driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, Foster Street and Rowe Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 8:57 p.m., a 66-year-old Grand Rapids man cited for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, City of Ludington.
