Kenneth Kunkel Jr.
Kenneth Charles Kunkel Jr., 43 of Free Soil, formerly of Scottville, passed away on Saturday August 1, 2026.
Kenneth, lovingly known as Bud, was born on Oct. 29, 1982, in Ludington, the son of Kenneth C. Kunkel Sr. and Marci (Shoup) Maiville. He graduated from Mason County Central High School in 2001 and attended two years of college.
On Oct. 10, 2020, he married Brandy Schmidt and they shared many happy years filled with laughter and fun.
Bud was known for his unconditional love, kindness, and friendly demeanor.
Bud had a lifelong passion for sports and was an enthusiastic WWE wrestling fan. His love for these activities was more than just a pastime; they were a significant part of bringing joy and excitement into his life.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Brandy; his dad Kenneth Sr.; mom Marci and stepdad Don Maiville; grandparents David and Ellen Shoup; and many other family and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill and Rose Kunkel and grandmother Penny Shoup.
