Henry Sutton Jr.
Henry Lyle Sutton Jr., 73, of Ludington passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
Henry was born in Battle Creek on Sept. 13, 1952, the son of Henry Lyle Sutton Sr. and Rayma Maxine (Fuller) Sutton-Meverden. He attended Ludington High School. On Aug. 7, 1971, he married his beloved Debra Ann (Kirwan) Sutton. Until the 1990s, he was employed by Whitehall Industries.
Henry’s personality was as vibrant as his life; he was known for being an excellent storyteller and a wise cracker, always ready with a joke or a captivating tale. His passions included hunting, fishing, camping, and the occasional visit to the casino, activities that brought him much joy and adventure.
Henry is survived by his loving wife, Debra Sutton; sons, Henry Lyle Sutton III, Charles (Stacy) Sutton, and Christopher (Paige Stedman) Sutton; stepdad, Lee Meverden; brother, John Sutton; sisters, Jenice Jurkowski, and Morgana Joy Meverdan; and granddaughters, Abigail, Elizabeth, Sierra, and Baylee Sutton.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Henry Sutton Sr.; mother, Rayma Maxine Sutton-Meverden; sister, Linda Kovach; and brother, Charles Sutton.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
