TRAVERSE CITY — The Ludington High School girls varsity soccer team improved to 12-5-1 Thursday with a commanding 5-0 win over Division 3 No. 8-ranked Traverse City St. Francis.
The Orioles were led offensively by Hestyn Stowe, who recorded a hat trick. Addison Torrez and Claire Kieth also scored for Ludington.
Hadley Morgan and Grace Forfinski contributed assists, with Forfinski tallying two assists in the victory.
Ludington goalkeeper Cambria Britton earned the shutout, stopping all four shots on goal she faced from St. Francis.
The Orioles finished with 11 shots on goal while the Ludington midfield and defensive units combined to neutralize the St. Francis attack throughout the match.
“The midfield and defensive group did a great job limiting opportunities and controlling play,” Ludington coach Kris Anderson said.
Ludington returns to action Monday against West Conference rival North Muskegon, which currently sits in second place in the conference with just one loss.
