GREENVILLE — Ludington continued its strong girls tennis season Monday, defeating Lakewood 7-1 and Greenville 5-3 in a nonconference triangular hosted by Greenville.
The Orioles opened the day with a dominant win over Lakewood, taking three singles flights and sweeping all four doubles matches.
Ava Johnson earned a victory at No. 1 singles, while Payton Stidham won at No. 3 singles and Khloe Wachowski added a win at No. 4 singles.
In doubles play, Ludington received victories from Kristi Killips and Ella Micka at No. 1, Kennedy Feyers and Lydia Kwietniewski at No. 2, Amaya Sytek and Maggie Tang at No. 3, and Isabelle Brower and Chloe Vangills at No. 4.
The Orioles followed with a 5-3 victory over host Greenville.
Johnson again picked up a win at No. 1 singles for Ludington. Sawyer Hendrickson won at No. 2 singles, Stidham added another victory at No. 3 singles, and Wachowski remained unbeaten on the day with a win at No. 4 singles.
Kristi Killips and Ella Micka secured Ludington’s doubles win at the No. 1 flight.
Ludington coach Rob Killips said the Orioles competed well throughout the day heading into postseason play.
Ludington will next compete Thursday at the MHSAA regional tournament hosted by Holland Christian.
