Scottville planning seasonal farmers market

SCOTTVILLE — The City of Scottville is again making space available for a seasonal farmers market, inviting organizers to host weekend markets in a portion of the city’s west parking lot behind Main Street businesses.

The market would feature farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and other locally produced goods.

Organizers and vendors are required to obtain a permit from the city and pay applicable fees, which cover the cost of permitting and inspections.

Organizers must also provide proof of liability insurance. The policy must include event dates, location and type of event, and list the City of Scottville as a co-insured party.

Special permitting options are available for registered nonprofit organizations, including those designated as 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities.
