Varsity Boys Basketball: Mesick defeats MCE
CUSTER — The visiting Mesick Bulldogs defeated MCE 74-55 Tuesday.
“The wheels completely fell off in the second half,” said MCE Coach Austin Boundy. “Mesick played a really tight full court man that caused our guys to panic and turn the ball over way too many times, giving them more possession. We’ll watch the film, learn from it, and have a stronger remainder of the week.”
MCP did not receive box scores for the varsity game.
The Bulldogs also defeated Eastern’s junior varsity 57-21.
“I was happy with our overall effort tonight, especially from the guys coming off the bench,” said MCE JV Coach Abe Shoup. “Mesick is one of the best JV teams we’ll see this year, and teams better than us have given up more than 57 to them, but there was no fear on our end. We made plenty of mistakes, but at the beginning of the season I think we would’ve had a hard time getting to 21 points against them so I’m proud of that growth.”
