Sandra Ann (Johnson) Kolb was born to John and Rose Johnson on August 24, 1940, in Ludington and passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 15, 2026.
In 1959 Sandra met the love of her life, Kenneth Kolb, when the two were attendants at mutual friends’ wedding. It was love at first sight, and the two married later that year. She had a rewarding career as an attendance secretary for the Grand Rapids Public Schools, where she also took great joy in helping to run a clothing bank to ensure children in the district were cared for.
Sandra and Kenneth retired to their dream home on White Lake in Montague in 1996 where they enjoyed many years making happy memories together. While they had many beautiful vacations and travels, their greatest joy was spending time at home and making it such a special place for themselves and everyone who spent time there.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Kolb; daughter, Sharon (Paul) Vos; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paula Johnson, John and Shirley Kolb, Priscilla and Mike Burns, and Lyn Kolb. Additionally, Sandra is survived by many special nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her loving son, David Kolb.
Sandra was part of a very large and happy family, the youngest of eight children, all of whom preceded her in death: Don Johnson, Phillip (Barbara) Johnson, Warren (Betty) Johnson, Dean (Barbara) Johnson, Tom Johnson, Jim (Karen) Johnson, and Karen (Bill) Cloutier. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Carol Kolb, and Paul Kolb.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Lebanon Lutheran Church, Whitehall, with Pastor Doug Ogden officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services at the church.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful people who supported them during this journey. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Families Manor in Twin Lake or Hospice of Michigan would be appreciated.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
