
Jim Gable
James Gable went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Jim was born in Huntington, Indiana, to Arthur E. and Edna (Zimpleman) Gable on August 15, 1948. He moved with his family from Indiana in 1958 to Jungle Haven Resort on Sauble Lake in Irons where he spent his childhood. He attended Mason County Central High School in Scottville and graduated in 1966. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He piloted boats on the rivers in Vietnam and received a Bronze Star for his meritorious service in a combat zone.
When Jim returned to Mason County, he worked for Keith Furniture, laying carpet for many years. Later he attended West Shore Community College and earned an associate degree in computer science. After graduation he worked for Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan as a computer tech for several years. During that time, he met and married Maralyn Sisko. Jim was a member of The Community Church of Ludington. In his free time Jim enjoyed computers, gadgets, gardening and yard work. Jim was modest, humble, conscientious and hard-working.
Jim is survived by his wife, Maralyn Gable; brother Max (Jean) Gable; son, Phillip (Mistey) Gable; daughter, Janelle Vaclavik-Adamski; grandchildren, Chase, Katy, Alina and Lyla Gable; stepchildren, Laura Beegle, and Mark Tweedy; and sister-in-law, Ann Gable.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna Gable; and brother, Paul Gable.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at The Community Church of Ludington at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the church.
