Joyce Hansen
Joyce Jean Hansen, 81, of Ludington, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Born April 9, 1944, in Ludington, Joyce was the daughter of the late Earl and Romie (Stark) Seymour. She graduated from Ludington High School, class of 1962. After graduating she went on to attend Central Michigan University.
Joyce married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Hansen on November 23, 1963, and they shared 40 years together before Dick’s passing in 2003.
She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.
Joyce was renowned for her culinary skills, always cooking up something, and her exceptional talent in various crafts. She found joy in sewing, knitting, and beading, often creating beautiful pieces. Her love for craft shows was evident as she frequently attended and worked at events to admire and gain inspiration.
An avid animal lover, Joyce cherished her cats and took pleasure in feeding the birds that visited her garden. Her passion for the outdoors extended to camping and traveling with her husband, exploring nature and new places together. Joyce’s creativity, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons Greg (Kristen) Hansen and Brian (Patti) Hansen; brothers Richard (Barbara) Seymour and Sam (Julie) Seymour; numerous grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her granddaughter Malaina Hansen.
A memorial service for Joyce will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Grace Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lakeshore Animal Friends.
