The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025:

• 11:40 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Gordon Road, Amber Township.
• 11:40 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Gordon Road, Amber Township.
• 1:53 p.m., (MCSO), a 45-year-old Scottville man was arrested for assault following a 911 call reporting an assault, 400 block of West Third Street, City of Scottville. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 5:30 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Reinberg Road west of State Street, City of Scottville.

Friday, Oct. 3, 2025:

• 9:51 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hansen Road east of Meyers Road, Amber Township.
• 10:27 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 55-year-old Ludington man was cited for operating without a license following a traffic stop near Ludington Avenue and Jackson Road, City of Ludington. 
• 1:18 p.m., (MCSO), a 78-year-old Free Soil man was cited for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, Johnson Road and Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
• 5:51 p.m., (MCSO), dog bite, 7400 block of North Darr Road, Free Soil Township. The victim, who was riding a bicycle, was bit by a dog. The case will be forwarded to animal control for further investigation.
• 7:35 p.m., (LPD), a 35-year-old Ludington man was arrested for parole violation following a call in the 200 block of East Melendy Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025:

• 1:02 a.m., (LPD), a 26-year-old Manistee man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, open intoxicants, resisting arrest and malicious destruction of police property following a traffic stop, 200 block of East Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 8:16 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of Chauvez Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• 10:20 p.m., (MCSO), counterfeit bill, Applebee’s, West US 10, Amber Township. The business reported that a counterfeit $100 bill was passed.
• 11:17 p.m., (LPD), a 60-year-old Ludington male was arrested for indecent exposure following a call in the 300 block of West Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025:

• 5:01 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, minor injury, Hansen Road east of Brookridge Road, Amber Township. A 30-year-old Scottville woman received minor injuries after the vehicle she was operating left the road and struck a tree.
• 8:34 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, 4000 block of West US 10, Amber Township.
• 10:01 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of the Ludington rest area, Summit Township.
• 10:08 a.m., breaking and entering of a shed, 4800 block of East Deer Cove, Logan Township. It was immediately not known if property was stolen.
• 7:54 p.m., (MCSO), a police report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office seeking assault charges against a 32-year-old Scottville woman following a 911 call reporting an assault against a male, 2400 block of North US 31, Victory Township.
• 9:56 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jagger Road east of Wooded Lake Drive, Hamlin Township.

Monday, Oct. 6, 2025:

• 12:56 a.m., (LPD), a 72-year-old Ludington man was cited for illegal camping, James and Filer streets, City of Ludington.
