LUDINGTON — The West Shore Beekeepers Association will hold its A Taste of Honey event on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Ludington Senior Center, 308 S. Rowe St. The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Event highlights include:
- Complimentary tastings of honey from regional apiaries
- A variety of bee products for sale, including honey, beeswax candles, propolis tinctures, and honey-infused skincare items
- Children’s activity table with crafts, bee-themed learning stations, and a hands-on lip balm workshop using beeswax
- Live Bee Observation Hive (weather permitting)
- Raffles for gift baskets and bee-related prizes (winners need not be present)
“This event is all about sharing the sweet results of our members’ hard work and educating the public on the vital role bees play in our ecosystem,” said Candace Casados, president of the West Shore Beekeepers Association. “Whether you’re curious about beekeeping or simply love honey, you’ll find something at this event to buzz about.”
The West Shore Beekeepers Association meets the second Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the First Methodist Church of Scottville, 114 West State St. Anyone curious about beekeeping—whether a seasoned expert or a beginner—is welcome to attend.
