PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 38-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police after he allegedly attempted to run from a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Nelson Road Wednesday, Aug. 13, shortly after 2 a.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
The suspect “failed to comply with a deputy during a traffic stop” and “attempted to flee the stop on foot,” said Sheriff Cole. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail

Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025:
- 6:21 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Scottville Road north of Kinney Road, Eden Township.
- 6:26 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road south of Chauvez Road, Eden Township.
- 7:42 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 74-year-old Thompsonville man was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle following a traffic stop near Dowland and Madison streets, City of Ludington.
Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025:
- 1:37 p.m., (MCSO), a warrant is being requested for assaulting/resisting/obstructing police against a 33-year-old Fountain woman after she reportedly refused to exit her vehicle when requested by a deputy, US 10 and Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.
- 2:59 p.m., (MCSO), larceny of items from a campsite, Forest Trail near LaSalle Road, Grant Township.
