
Kraig Yeck
Kraig Steven Yeck, also known as Dup Dup, of Muskegon, passed away at the age of 43 on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the University of Michigan Hospital, in Ann Arbor,. During his passing, he was surrounded by his loving family and his best friend.
Kraig was born in Ludington on September 18, 1981. He graduated from Ludington High School in 2000 and later attended Michigan State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering. After college Kraig went to work for Scherdel Sales & Technology, Inc. During his 20 years of employment, he started out as an engineer and later becoming a plant manager, first in Mexico and then in Muskegon.
Kraig is survived by his father; Steve (Jackie) Yeck; his mother, Janice (Joe Lee) LaPlante; his sisters, Sonja (Jason) Battice and Stephanie (Nick) Jamieson; his stepsisters, Trisha (Les) Olds, Lynn (Johnny) Baumgardner, and Deanna (Brenton) Goldthwait; his nieces and nephews, Kaylynn (Dylan) Gouin, Kaiden Battice, Jaxon Battice, Chase Jamieson and Declan Jamieson; his step-niece, Starley Baumgardner; his step-nephews, Brayden Olds and Beckett Goldthwait; several great-nieces and great-nephews, his grandmother, Beverly Curtis, his uncles, Steve (Susan) Curtis; Bruce (Laura) Curtis; and Mark (Georgia) Yeck. Kraig was preceded in death by his grandparents; Warren (Carol) Yeck, Mel (Marge) Curtis; his uncle Fred Curtis and niece Shaman Battice.
In his spare time, Kraig enjoyed traveling with his friends, collecting rare beers, and playing golf. Kraig’s friends played a key role in his life; and his passion for golf brought him to several courses throughout the State of Michigan. While enjoying the challenges each course presented, he always had his Uncle Marc by his side.
Kraig was also an avid sports fan with the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Spartans being his favorite. He loved animals and adopted several rescue dogs throughout his life. A celebration of Kraig’s life will be held at a later date.

Kraig may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
