PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — The Mason County Finance, Personnel and Rules Committee will consider the 2027 Oakview Medical Care Facility millage levy, several employee-related requests and county building improvements when it meets Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The committee will meet at 9 a.m. in the conference room at the Mason County Airport Terminal, 5300 W. U.S. 10.
The Finance, Personnel and Rules Committee is a committee of the Mason County Board of Commissioners. Recommendations approved by the committee will be forwarded to the full board for consideration. The Board of Commissioners’ next regular monthly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Mason County Airport Terminal Conference Room. The full board serves as the county’s governing and major policy-approval body.
Oakview Medical Care Facility is requesting that the county levy the full .9715 mill authorized for its 2027 operating year. Following the anticipated Headlee rollback, the effective levy would be .9605 mill. Oakview projects approximately $2.7 million in millage revenue for 2027.
Oakview’s preliminary 2027 operating budget projects $17.69 million in both receipts and expenditures and a year-end balance of approximately $9.57 million. The budget assumes an average daily census of 88% of its 83 available beds, a 2% employee wage increase and continued use of agency employees to fill vacant certified nursing assistant, licensed practical nurse and registered nurse positions.
The agenda also includes consideration of scheduling a special Finance, Personnel and Rules Committee meeting to review the county’s final 2027 budget.
