The following is activity reported by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Ludington Police Department and Oceana County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026.

Among the more significant calls in Mason County, Mason County sheriff’s deputies investigated two breaking and entering complaints in Pere Marquette Township and Ludington, responded to a malicious destruction of property complaint in Hamlin Township, handled fraud complaints in Scottville and Ludington, investigated a suspicious situation in Pere Marquette Township, and responded to a threat complaint in Scottville. Deputies also investigated a property damage crash in Amber Township, a car/deer crash in Sherman Township and checked on the welfare of a person in Branch Township.

Ludington police investigated a breaking and entering complaint, a domestic incident, two larceny complaints, a mental health call, two harassment complaints, two fraud complaints and multiple well-being checks. Officers also responded to animal complaints, miscellaneous calls and traffic hazards.

In Oceana County, sheriff’s deputies handled a runaway complaint in Shelby Township, a malicious destruction of property complaint in Grant Township, a threat complaint in Weare Township, a well-being check in Grant Township and a civil complaint in Hart. Deputies also investigated a car/deer crash in Golden Township and assisted with multiple paper service and transport calls.
