Obituary: D. Dianne Eisenlohr, 80, of Ludington

Darlene Dianne Eisenlohr

Darlene Dianne Lindenau was born in Ludington on Nov. 29, 1945 to William and Darlene (Topping) Lindenau. Dianne enjoyed many adventures on the Stearns estate as a child with her younger siblings Martha and William, Jr., as her father was the groundskeeper. She graduated from the Cook County School of Nursing in Chicago, as a registered nurse: a lifelong passion of hers. As a nurse, she worked in various arenas of the health industry but her fondest memories were working as a hospice nurse.

In 1987, she married her love, Robert Lee. She was a wonderful mother to Erin (Rodney) VanDyke and Timothy (Stacey) Eisenlohr, and a doting grandmother to Riley (Michaela) VanDyke, Elizabeth Eisenlohr, and Brianne (Mike) VanDyke, all of whom she loved more than just about anything on this earth.

Dianne enjoyed reading, spending her summers at a little cottage on Pettibone Lake with her family, the occasional scratchy-off, an ice cold Natty Light and a puff. She wasn’t one to pass up a good bargain on groceries—or anything for that matter—and you may have seen her once or twice on the dial-a-ride to Shop ‘n Save in Ludington or on a barstool at Murphy’s. You might have heard her utter the phrase “when pigs fly,” which was a favorite of hers and she collected more than a handful of winged pigs in her lifetime. You couldn’t leave her house without a gift from Dianne: whether that was a jar of peanut butter, a can of soup, or something she grabbed off the free table. She leaves a big hole in the hearts of her family, and likely everyone she ever met. To know Dianne was to have a friend for life. She will be greatly missed forever.

She left us on May 13, 2026 and was welcomed to her next chapter by her parents; siblings Martha Bosma and William Lindenau; sister-in-law Deb Lindenau; and her love Robert. The family encourages you to raise your glass on a sunny day and remember how funny, caring, and charismatic Dianne was. There will be a celebration of her life where we can say our final “lood-a-loo” at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Hart on Saturday, June 27 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, Ludington, is in charge of arrangements.
