Flipstar gymnasts showcase skills at Spring Fling Fun Meet

Session 1: Recreational Tumble Tots, TumbleWeeds and Ninja Class Students

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Flipstar Gymnastics welcomed athletes, families and community members Saturday, May 2, for its annual Spring Fling Fun Meet and “Show-Off Your Skills” event at Flipstar Gymnastics.

The event gave lower-level competitive team members an opportunity to participate in the final fun meet of the season, while recreational class students demonstrated skills they have been practicing throughout the year.

Head coach and co-owner Aimee Goff said the event provided a positive environment for gymnasts of all experience levels.

Session 2: Intermediate and Advanced Recreational Class Students and Xcel Copper Team Competitors

“It was so fun to watch all of these kids perform, some for the first time ever, for their family and friends,” Goff said. “It was wonderful to see all of the amazing progress these kids are making.”

Unlike a traditional competitive meet, the Spring Fling event encouraged gymnasts to experiment with new routines and techniques. Several higher-level athletes also participated to test new skills in a meet setting.

Goff thanked coaches, parent volunteers, youth volunteers and community supporters for helping organize the event. Families and friends also were recognized for supporting the gymnasts throughout the season.
